-Konica Minolta has introduced its first CMYK plus white production press for India at Pamex 2026. Managing director Katsuhisa Asari explains how the AccurioPress C12010S is designed to unlock premium, short-run and application-led growth without adding workflow complexity.

India, 27 January,2026: When Katsuhisa Asari, managing director at Konica Minolta, speaks about the AccurioPress C12010S, the tone is less about a routine product refresh and more about closing a long-standing gap. “White has been something our customers in India have been asking for consistently over the years,” he says. “This launch brings us to the same competitive stage, but with an approach that reflects our strengths in toner chemistry.”

For the first time in its production print portfolio, Konica Minolta has introduced a CMYK plus white toner press for the Indian market at Pamex 2026, positioning the AccurioPress C12010S as a flagship launch aimed squarely at premium, short-run and high-value applications.

At Pamex, the company’s showcase spans production print, labels and embellishment, but the spotlight remains firmly on the 12010s and its sibling, the 14010s. The ‘s’ suffix, Asari explains, stands for ‘special’, denoting white toner capability. “It is a simple name, but it represents a very important step for us,” he says. “This is our first CMYK plus white system in this segment.”

The AccurioPress C12010S was also later inaugurated at TechNova’s stand at the show.

White done differently

The key distinction lies in how the white is applied. Unlike systems that require multiple passes to build opacity, the AccurioPress C12010S delivers white as an underlay in a single run. “Our white is designed to work as an underlay and achieve strong opacity in one pass,” Asari explains. “Others may need two hits to get the same effect.”

Crucially, the white uses standard toner chemistry, eliminating the need for special handling, purging or production planning. “Because it is normal toner, customers do not need separate workflows or additional planning for white,” says Asari. “That simplicity is a big advantage.”

This matters because white is not about everyday paper. Asari is clear that conventional white stocks rarely need it. “White paper does not need white toner,” he states. “The real demand comes from clear films, coloured substrates, black media and textured stocks.”

These applications are growing as brand owners expand SKUs and printers look to realise higher margins through value-added work such as premium invitations, short-run labels and speciality commercial print.

The AccurioPress C12010S is capable of delivering speeds of up to 120 A4 pages per minute, while white printing runs at up to 120 A4 pages per minute. Monthly duty cycles extend up to 2.2-million A4 prints, positioning the press firmly in the industrial production segment.

Textures, substrates and premium intent

On textured stocks, the press preserves the tactile feel rather than flattening it. Heat and pressure fuse the toner while maintaining surface character, provided the grooves are within workable limits. “The texture does not disappear,” Asari explains. “The look, touch and feel remain, which is exactly what premium customers want.”

Clear films and speciality substrates are another focus area, particularly for sheetfed labels where converters are not using applicators. “In India, we see growing demand for sheet-based label production because of short runs and increasing SKU counts,” says Asari. “That is where white toner really shows its value.”

Beyond white, the AccurioPress C12010S is packed with automation aimed at reducing operator intervention. Paper is measured before feeding for size, stiffness, moisture and white point. If a sheet is unevenly cut, the system can correct registration, reject the sheet or stop the job. Once a paper library is built, profiles are applied automatically to maintain colour accuracy.

During print, Konica Minolta’s IQ systems handle real-time quality control, with the latest iteration extending validation to variable data jobs. “The idea is to make the machine more intelligent,” Asari says. “Operators should not have to spend time on manual checks before, during or after printing.”

Questions around inline clear toner are met with a strategic answer. Konica Minolta continues to back offline embellishment through its MGI portfolio, offering spot UV, foiling, foil-on-foil and clear-on-foil in multiple combinations. “With MGI, customers can do much more than just clear,” Asari argues. “We believe that delivers greater value than a single inline clear option today.”

Pricing, positioning and confidence

Configured with white, the AccurioPress C12010S sits north of INR 1.10-crore, compared to around INR 90 lakh for the CMYK-only version. It is positioned as an investment for printers aiming to move up the value chain rather than compete purely on volume.

Asari cites IDC data showing Konica Minolta holding just over 54% share of India’s production digital press installs of the 2,700 presses added in 2025 carrying the brand. Growth for the current financial year is tracking at 8% to 9%, broadly in line with India’s GDP, with a stronger Q4 expected.

What underpins this confidence is reach. With near-total service coverage across tier-one to tier-four cities, Konica Minolta is preparing for digital print demand to migrate beyond metros. Internally, the company runs on what Asari calls ‘1,000 action items’ to keep teams aligned. “Whether it is sales, service or support, everyone knows what needs to be done,” he says.

In that context, the AccurioPress C12010S is more than a long-awaited white toner press. It signals Konica Minolta’s intent to remain dominant as Indian print shifts towards premium, short-run and application-led growth, where white is no longer an add-on, but a commercial statement.

India, 18 December,2025 Color Business Center recently installed a new AccurioPress C14010S digital production press from Konica Minolta, in its ninth and newest branch in Gole Market, New Delhi. The newly opened location came into operation just a month ago and has already recorded more than five lakh prints within the first month of the new machine.

The AccurioPress C14010S, launched at Printpack 2025, has already been installed at five places nationwide to date, including the one at Color Business Center.

The Konica Minolta AccurioPress C14010S is designed for high-volume commercial printing environments. With a print speed of up to 140 A4 pages per minute in full color and 120 ppm even when using white toner, the machine delivers high throughput without compromising quality. It has a 3,600 x 2,400 dpi resolution, paired with Konica Minolta’s S.E.A.D. X technology and Simitri V toner, which ensure consistent, superior image output, the company said.

Color accuracy and repeatability are supported by a built-in intelligent quality optimizer and paper inspection unit, which automate monitoring and adjustments during production, thereby minimizing manual intervention and reducing errors.

One of the defining features of the ‘S’ model installed at Color Business Center is the fifth color capability, including white toner, allowing printing on dark, metallic, and transparent substrates.

The machine supports a broad substrate range from 52 gsm to 450 gsm, enabling commercial printers to handle multiple job types, including textured, coated, synthetic, and specialty media.

The fourth generation in the family-owned business, Abhishek Sethi, director of Color Business Center, said the company has seen the changes in customer preferences and printing technology in the due course of time.

Digital printing is no longer optional for printing businesses, he said. “Digital has now become a mandatory add-on for most printers. Customer preferences are shifting, and the printing environment once dominated by offset is steadily moving toward digital. While offset remains irreplaceable for certain applications, digital printing is now crucial for serving a wider range of customers and faster
turnaround demands.”

Sierra Innovations invests in AccurioPress

-Sierra Innovations has invested in a Konica Minolta AccurioPress C7100 to strengthen print quality and improve production reliability. The machine has been running on the company shopfloor since December 2024.

The C7100 has been performing well and supports our daily print requirements efficiently. Konica Minolta team provided complete training during installation and ensured that our team understood the machine operations thoroughly. The overall support, both online and offline, has been very good and has helped us integrate the system smoothly into our workflow,” Arpit Bansal of Sierra Innovations said.

Along with the AccurioPress C7100, the company has a few other machines within our facility, including TPH Orient Inkjet systems and binding equipment. “These help us manage the entire production and finishing process in-house. However, Konica Minolta remains our primary machine for book cover printing and high-quality digital output,” Bansal added.

Sierra Innovations was established in 2015-16 with a primary focus on creating and delivering study materials for competitive examinations across India. “We operate entirely in the online D2C space, managing everything from content development to printing and delivery. Our core strength lies in producing exam-specific books designed by our in-house team. We work only on digital printing and cater to students preparing for more than 300 exams, with new categories introduced regularly. Students select the required material through our website, mobile applications, Amazon, and Flipkart, and we print and deliver the books pan-India,” Bansal explained.

The company is led by three directors who are also co-founders. Ayush Aggarwal, Devendra Dhaka, and Arpit Bansal jointly oversee the entire business. All three founders work closely across operations, content, production, and business planning, which has contributed to the steady expansion of the organisation.

The company’s primary customers are students preparing for various competitive exams across the country. The content team designs the syllabus and study material internally. Students order the required books directly from our website, mobile apps, or ecommerce platforms like Amazon and Flipkart. Once an order is placed, we print the book in-house and deliver it through courier partners across India. The entire model is built around customised, exam-specific content made available on demand.

“We currently have a team of more than 150 staff members who handle content creation, printing, production, packaging, order management, technology support, and customer service. This structure allows us to manage the complete workflow within the organisation,” Bansal said.

He added that the machine is being used consistently on a daily basis, and the performance has been strong. “Since the installation took place not that long ago, we expect full return on investment within the next two to three years. The ability to handle our entire production in-house gives us clarity on future print volumes and cost savings. Our experience with Konica Minolta so far has been positive in terms of print quality, service support, and availability of parts, which strengthens our confidence in achieving the expected ROI,” Bansal concluded.
