Konica Minolta’s AccurioJet KM-1 receives the world’s first FOGRA53 accreditation

Konica Minolta’s AccurioJet KM-1 receives the world’s first FOGRA53 accreditation

Wins the robust profile certification thanks to its outstanding stability, versatility, and colour accuracy

Adding yet another achievement to its extensive list of industry recognitions, Konica Minolta’s AccurioJet KM-1 has recently been awarded the world’s first FOGRA53 accreditation. The robust profile certification was awarded by Fogra Research Institute for Media Technologies for the outstanding stability, versatility, and colour accuracy delivered by the AccurioJet KM-1 after an exhaustive testing program. The development also makes Konica Minolta the first global press manufacturer to receive the FOGRA53 accreditation.

Delivering differentiation, digitally: The AccurioJet KM-1

A top-of-the-line UV LED digital inkjet sheetfed printer, the AccurioJet KM-1 comes equipped with many advanced capabilities. Not only is it capable of moving short-run offset to digital inkjet, but can also carry out hybrid printing operations by seamlessly integrating with existing offset processes. Capable of printing up to 3,000 single-sided B2 sheets per hour at up to 1,200 dpi, the AccurioJet KM-1 is also designed for duplex printing, as well as printing on packaging board, lightweight papers and textured stock.

Another major differentiator for the AccurioJet KM-1 is the Dot Freeze Technology®. The unique technology addresses one of the most fundamental issues with inkjet printing: that of uncontrolled ink dot movement. By self-freezing ink drops upon contact with the print material, DFT ensures superlative print quality and also overcomes the challenge of mottling of colours and printing on porous materials. Thanks to such innovative capabilities, the AccurioJet KM-1 has already been recognised by the European Digital Press Association (EDP) as the “Best Cut-Sheet Colour B2+ Printer”.

Research Institute for Media Technologies is a German-based research institute for printing and media. It operates under the aegis of the German Federation of Industrial Research Associations (AiF), which oversees and supports joint industrial research on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology. The institute’s recognition of AccurioJet KM-1’s superior tech capabilities will give the growing community of Konica Minolta customers across the world yet another reason to celebrate their association with the brand.
